Make a Lens for Charity – Your Good Deed on 9/11
Thursday, September 11th, 2008You can do something good today and Join the Squidoo Activist My Good Deed Charity Challenge for 9/11. It is simple to participate, just make a lens to benefit any of your favorite charities and add it to the My Good Deed Plexo.
My contribution was to create a lens that benefits Dog Tags for Kids, Dog Tags for Kids Link Children with Their Deployed Parents.
Dog Tags for Kids is a nonprofit organization created to show support for the troops and their families. I felt it was an appropriate charity to support, since these families are being separated as a result of 9/11.
Dog Tags for Kids supplying for FREE specially engraved Dog Tags to service members that can be sent home to their children and link their deployed parents.
I used the new Donations Module, so you can make a direction donation to their cause. I tested it out with my own donation from last month’s Squidoo earnings.
The lens also looks at how linking objects or personal symbols can be used to help people cope during times of loss or in this case time of separation.
